CLEAR ALLThe Asian cat breed group consists of five varieties, often distinguished by their coat colour. These are Asian self (e.g. Bombay and Tortie), Asian Smoke (self or solid-coloured silvers), Burmilla (Asian shaded), Asian Tabby (including mackerel, ticked, spotted, and classic tabby patterns), and the Tiffanie (medium to long haired). Some varieties are more common than others, but all are beloved for their active, affectionate, playful natures and elegant appearance.
The Asian breeds were first bred in the UK as the result of a cross between a Burmese and a Chinchilla cat in the 1980s. For a long time, they remained closely related to their Burmese ancestors. However, after a while, the decision was made to give them recognition as their own breed group.
If you’re looking for a lively, outgoing companion for your family, an Asian shorthair could be a great option. Each variety has a glossy, close-lying coat and a muscular body structure. The latter makes them much heavier than they appear. However, the main draw of these unique cats is their intense devotion to their owners and their strong zest for life. You will never be bored with one of these beautiful cats in your home. At the same time, these cats are known to be gentle and very receptive to their owner's needs, which makes them suitable for both young and elderly individuals looking for a long-term companion.
Asian cats are best suited to homes where someone is around for most of the day. Many experts also recommend getting another similar feline for companionship because of their highly social natures.

Asian cats are best suited to homes where someone is around for most of the day. Many experts also recommend getting another similar feline for companionship because of their highly social natures.
While each Asian cat has a unique appearance, they are generally medium-sized with a sleek and elegant yet muscular build. They are similar in appearance to their Burmese ancestors, with a broad, round chest, slender legs, and wide-set eyes that are often a striking colour contrast to their fur.
Their heads are slightly rounded, and their ears are somewhat large in comparison to the rest of the face. Their large ears and eyes give them an intelligent and alert expression, which is highly endearing to many cat lovers.
All four Asian cat groups are short-haired with fine, silky fur. However, their coat colouring and patterning will depend on the specific breed. Asian Self varieties are typically a solid colour; for example, Bombay is solid black.
As the name suggests, Asian Smoke cats have a silvery-white undercoat with a contrasting topcoat, giving a smokey appearance. Similarly, the Asian Shaded Burmilla is typically silver or cream with a golden or tipped pattern.
Meanwhile, Asian Tabbies have a tabby patterning, either ticked, mackerel, spotted, or the classic pattern with wide banding.
All four Asian Shorthair breeds have one thing in common - they are all social, people-oriented cats with very loving, charming, and high-spirited personalities!
These cats love to be the centre of attention and will make themselves an integral part of the family. They are always ready to engage with their owners through a cuddle, leg rubs, or a little meow.
Unlike the long-haired Asian cat (Tiffanie), the short-haired breeds can be pretty vocal. They love to chat with you; in fact, when you return home, they will likely tell you all about their day.
Never one to sit on the sidelines, Asian Shorthair cats create an interactive and dynamic home environment, so they do well in busy family homes. They are exceptionally friendly and welcoming to strangers, always looking to make a new friend.
These cats love to "help" with daily tasks, whether you're doing laundry, cooking dinner, or even attending a Zoom meeting—be prepared for your Asian cat to supervise every step of the way.
In addition, their high intelligence and curiosity mean they'll quickly learn how to open cupboards and drawers or find creative ways to entertain themselves. To keep their sharp minds engaged (and their paws out of the food cupboards), you'll need to provide plenty of toys and feeder puzzles, as well as engage in regular interactive play.
Asian cats are confident, social felines who get along well with children and other pets, making them ideal for bustling family homes. However, they need regular companionship, so they do best in a house with someone around most of the day.
Without enough companionship or mental stimulation, Asian cats can develop separation anxiety and boredom, which may lead to destructive behaviours.
Asian cats often like the companionship of another cat or even a cat-friendly dog. However, it's best not to add more than one other furry friend to the house, as they can get jealous if they feel they have to compete for your attention.

Jack
Miniature Dachshund
One of the reasons I was hesitant to order a puppy from The Pedigree Paws is because I live in Spain. However they connected me with a very good FCI breeder in Barcelona.
He showed me all the health documents of both parents, their pedigree and answer to all my questions. I am so happy they helped me to find a healthy puppy as finding one by myself was very overwhelming. Contacting The Pedigree Paws was the best decision and I highly recommend them to everybody!

Athena
Chihuahua
It's been a few months since we decided to find a Chihuahua puppy to join our family, however we had issues finding a good breeder.
We contacted The Pedigree Paws and they connected us with a very unique breeder in Greece. Many videos and pictures were shown, the breeder shared with us the proof of vaccinations, deworming and her 5 generation pedigree. We were fortunate as George, the breeder was able to deliver the puppy to us personally. We are very pleased with our beautiful Athena. Thank you, The Pedigree Paws, for being truthful and transparent.
